Rem-ly Terms & Conditions

Effective date: July 27, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rem-ly mobile application ("Rem-ly", the "App", "we", "us", or "our"). Rem-ly is developed and operated by Adham Karim, an individual developer. By downloading, accessing, or using Rem-ly, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of the Service

Rem-ly lets you create reminders that fire based on conditions — such as arriving at or leaving a place, a calendar event starting, current weather, a contact being nearby, or an activity goal — instead of only a fixed time. Reminders can be created for yourself or sent to a contact, in which case they are evaluated against that contact's conditions rather than your own. Rem-ly also supports shared household boards so people in a household can see reminders relevant to the group.

You can use Rem-ly with an account (data syncs across your devices via our backend) or in Guest Mode (data stays on your device only, is not backed up, and is lost if you uninstall the App or lose the device).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Rem-ly. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Rem-ly with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Accounts & Guest Mode

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. In Guest Mode, no account is created, no data is synced to our backend, and we cannot recover your data if it is lost.

4. Rem-ly Premium (Subscriptions)

Certain features (for example, additional condition types, unlimited saved places and households, and Live Activities) require a Rem-ly Premium subscription, sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

5. Location, Health & Other Sensitive Data

Rem-ly may request access to your location, calendar, health/activity data (via HealthKit), and notification permissions in order to evaluate the conditions you configure. This data is used to power those conditions and is not sold to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is collected and why.

6. Reminders Are Not Guaranteed

Rem-ly makes a best effort to detect conditions and deliver reminders promptly, but delivery and timing depend on factors outside our control, including your device's operating system, background execution limits, network connectivity, notification permissions, location accuracy, and third-party data sources (such as weather or calendar providers). We do not guarantee that any reminder will fire, or that it will fire at a precise moment. Do not rely on Rem-ly for medical, safety-critical, or emergency purposes.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Rem-ly to harass, stalk, or track another person without their knowledge or consent, to violate any applicable law, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its backend services. Reminders and location-based features that involve another person (for example, proximity conditions or household sharing) should only be set up with that person's knowledge and consent.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Reminder text, place names, household names and display names must not contain content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that targets any individual or group. Any user who sends such content, or who uses Rem-ly's conditions to monitor someone without their consent, may have their account suspended or permanently removed without notice.

Every reminder you receive and every contact connection can be reported (Report on a reminder) or blocked (Block on a contact), and any condition that would monitor your device requires your explicit approval before it becomes active. Reports are reviewed and acted on — including removing content and ejecting the responsible user — within 24 hours.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Rem-ly (reminders, places, household and contact information). By sending a reminder to a contact or sharing a household board, you're choosing to share that content with the people you select — you're responsible for what you share and with whom.

9. Third-Party Services

Rem-ly relies on third-party services to operate, including Apple (App Store, push notifications, HealthKit, Family Sharing), Supabase (authentication and database), and Google (place search when setting up a location reminder). Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using Rem-ly at any time and delete your account from within the App. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms or misuses the App.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Rem-ly is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Rem-ly, including missed, delayed, or inaccurate reminders.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of Rem-ly after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
