Rem-ly Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Rem-ly ("Rem-ly", the "App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Rem-ly is developed and operated by Adham Karim, an individual developer. It applies alongside our Terms & Conditions.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information. If you create an account, we collect the email address and password you provide (handled by our authentication provider) and an optional display name.
• Location. With your permission, Rem-ly collects precise location to evaluate location-based conditions you set up, such as arriving at or leaving a place, or a contact being nearby.
• Health & activity data. With your permission, Rem-ly reads activity data through Apple HealthKit to evaluate activity-goal conditions you set up.
• Device identifier. Used to register your device for push notifications and to sync your data to the right device.
• Content you create. Reminders, saved places, household names, and contact connections you add inside the App.
• Guest Mode. If you use Rem-ly without an account, none of the above is sent to our servers — it's stored only on your device and is lost if you uninstall the App or lose the device.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above only to operate the App's core functionality: evaluating the conditions you configure, delivering reminders and push notifications, syncing your data across your own devices, and enabling the household and contact sharing that you set up yourself. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles.

3. What We Don't Do

Rem-ly does not show ads, does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell your personal information.

4. How Information Is Shared

• With people you choose. Sending a reminder to a contact, or sharing a household board, shares the relevant reminder or board content with the people you select. That's a choice you make each time — we don't share it automatically.
• With service providers. We use the following providers to operate the App, each processing data only as needed to provide their part of the service, under their own privacy and security commitments:
  • Apple — App Store and subscription billing, push notification delivery (APNs), HealthKit, and Family Sharing.
  • Supabase — account authentication and the database that stores your reminders, contacts, saved places and households.
  • Google — when you search for a place while setting up a location reminder, the text you type is sent to the Google Places API to return matching results. Place searches are not linked to your Rem-ly account.
• We do not sell data to third parties, and we do not share it for third-party advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage & Security

Account data is stored on our backend provider's infrastructure and transmitted using encrypted connections. Guest Mode data never leaves your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from Settings › Delete Account within the App. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, reminders, conditions, contact connections, saved places, household memberships, reactions and device registrations are all removed. If you created a household that other people are still in, ownership passes to the longest-standing remaining member rather than the household being deleted for everyone. Guest Mode data is deleted automatically when you uninstall the App or is overwritten if you clear its local storage.

7. Children's Privacy

Rem-ly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can delete everything directly in the App (Settings › Delete Account); for access, correction or export requests, contact us at the email below and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
